What is a Doctor of Optometry?

Doctors of Optometry (O.D.) are the primary health care providers for the eye. They specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.

Optometrists must be certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and licensed by the state regulatory board. All optometrists are required to participate in ongoing continuing education courses to stay current on the latest standards of care.
Our doctors of optometry provide comprehensive eye examinations that allow them to prescribe, fit and dispense ocular medications, glasses, and contact lenses, providing total eye health and vision care for all ages.
